Hi there,

Hope you are doing well. I am foreign national working under the Skilled Worker Visa in the UK. 2 years I renewed my passport and my passport number changed but my current BRP was issued when my old passport was valid. Same nationality. Just a new passport with a difference passport number. I was wondering if I would have to report the change of passport as a change of circumstance here (https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp [nofollow] ) to the UKVI? I checked online and some said yes they did but I double-checked this page it never says the change of passport is a change of circumstances required to report here.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

Yes, you do need to report your change of passport details… because your BRP needs to be linked to your new passport number.

If you click on the link for the Change of Circumstances form, it takes you to the paper Form MCC, which you need to complete and send off to UKVI:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5c2ccd68e5274a65b8ec78bc/coc-_migrant_-12-18.pdf

Form MCC specifically states on it that you need to report a change of passport details:
