IHS fee increasing 6/2/24 - am I insane to try to rush my FLRM through this week

Like most of us I have been dreading the visa fees increase currently happening. 

However, I've just found out that the IHS increase isn't taking effect until 6/2/24.  This is what multiple Immigration solicitors are posting online on their websites though I haven't been able to find a .gov confirmation.

My visa expires 1/4/24 and I was planning on renewing in March, but would it be insane to try to get it in before the increase? 

I arrived in the UK on a spouse visa 1/7/21, so I'm past the 2 year 6 month line so this shouldn't complicate my ILR

I get paid 31/1/24 (using my income alone for visa) and my bank statements run the calendar month, so the timing of that should be fine as my bank statement will show my January pay.

I also understand I can submit my application online and then have a bit more time to gather evidence as long as everything is dated before the date of my application (I'll be aiming for 5/2/24 I suppose)

Can someone tell me of this makes sense  or is there a problem I'm not seeing?  I would love to save £1000 even if it is a bit stressful rushing through it.

Already been advised on the UK-yankee Advisories board above "for Important warnings and news about immigration rules and changes." with the gov.uk links for the start date.  It's a shame you missed it.

The reason for the delay was discussed on that thread and the warning on the 15th January given, that the House of Common voted for the increase that evening at just past 8pm; which gave people 3 weeks to get their application together.

Thank you for the confirmation, I had missed that.  We are reasonably sure we can get everything in order in time for 5/2/24, thankfully.

Is there any pertinent fact I'm missing?  Our heads are in a bit of a spin but we are gathering evidence now.  My bank statements and payslips will add up as referenced above.  We're going through post now to make sure it's all in order. 

By 5/2/24 we should have

- Accommodation proof
   - Living with parents, so we will have the land registry doc and a letter from them confirming size of property and permission for us to continue living here
- Financial
   - Digital payslips from 31/7/23-31/1/24
   - Bank statements covering the entire period showing deposits (will get posted from the bank as soon as the new statement gets generated 31/1/24). I'm assuming they still don't accept digital copies, as was the case in 2021 when we applied?
   - HR letter confirming validity of bank statements
- Post covering the 2 years 7 months I  have been here, spread roughly every three months.    Can anyone spell out the post requirements as well, as I've gotten them muddled in my head.  This is the part we are most stressed about because we have been living with my wife's parents since March 2022 so we don't get much in the way of post. 
     - Do they need photos of the entire letter (i.e. Credit card statement at multiple pages) or just the first page with address and date?)
    - Will they accept things like digital bank statements for both of us if we end up short on post for any period? 
 -Both passports
- BRP copy
- Declaration and consent forms provided during visa application


Regarding the above dates, Can I just double check that my math is right? I arrived 1/7/21, my Visa expires 1/4/24, so because I am past the 2 year 6 month mark I will not have any problems with ILR?



Is that it for documents?  I'm doing the application now and there is a question about shared financial responsibilities.  Will they want any proof of this?
