UK passport application and travel

So I just got my citizenship. Great!!! I went to fill out my application for my UK passport and it says very menacingly ..."Do not book travel until you. receive your passport."

I would assume this is in case people applying wanted to travel with this new UK passport and it might not arrive in time correct? There is nothing wrong or illegal about me travelling with my still valid USA passport? My wife and I have plans to visit France in the next couple of weeks for a few days. Should I hold off and wait until we return to start the UK passport process?

If you leave before you get your UK passport, how are you planning to get back into the UK again?

You no longer have a valid ILR because you are a UK citizen now (your ILR was cancelled when your citizenship was granted and must now be sent back to UKVI)…. but you also don’t have a UK passport yet. So how will you prove to immigration that you are a British citizen?

Travelling to and from the UK

Once you have a British passport you must use this to enter the UK.

If you do not want a British passport you can apply for a certificate of entitlement instead.

You cannot enter the UK using your BRP or certificate of British citizenship.

Ohhhh sh*t. I cant leave then come back on my US passport because I am a BPR is not valid.

Is there any way to get a rush passport?

Found my own answer on that one. No rush for first-time passport applicants. Well, I am gonna have to make this one up to the wife!!!!

For what it's worth...I attended my citizenship ceremony 31 Jan. Applied for my UK first passport 9 Feb and sent documents the same day. I got my passport approved and being printed email this morning 16 Feb
