Earnings Increase to Sponsor Spouse/Partner/Employee

For those who don't read the Child Board, Advisoires - Important warnings and news about immigration rules and changes. there are changes coming in next month regarding earnings to be able to sponsor.

As most on here seem to use the Family Route; those wanting a visa to move to the UK by using a partner/spouse to sponsor them; this will affect you if your potential sponsor is a low earner/doesn't work many hours. To start on the Family route visas from 11 April 2024, your sponsor will need to earn at least £29,000 to bring you to the UK. It will also affect those on another UK visa who want to switch (in country) to the family route and have a partner/spouse sponsor them. Fiance visa is part of the family route.

The changes will affect some of those on a Skilled Worker visa too, although in some cases you might get a rise to the same rate a Brit is paid for that job.

If you are affected by the earnings changing to £29,000 for a Family visa starting from 11 April, there is less than a week to get a valid application in under the soon to be, old rules.

The Skilled Worker earning changes start today for ILR and new applicants.
