Bran muffins
« on: August 30, 2024, 04:08:45 PM »
I found a good recipe that can be "tweaked" easily to include applesauce instead of the shortening, etc., as needed. From a very old advert. See image attached.  We had them with tea the other night and they were really good. The leftovers the next morning were also still good, but they are definitely best warm from the oven.

I didn't put the stated amount of sugar in, but just a dollop of honey instead. (The Raisin Bran cereal I used had the raisins already sweetened.) Cooked them in the toaster oven. The recipe made 8 small muffins. Next time I'll be adding pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon.
