I am a dual US/UK citizen who has been living and earning in the UK for 20 years. In a few weeks I'll turn 67. I have social security in the US, the state pension here in the UK, of course, and also a teacher's pension here in the UK. I know my projected pension amounts, but I'm not collecting any of these yet and am still working full time as a university lecturer. Also, I might be relocating to Colombia at some point this year (my wife is Colombian).
I'm wondering where I can find an advisor who could help me strategise on the various possible scenarios for starting to take my pensions. When I did a brief search for financial advisors, they looked pretty expensive. I just want to sit down with someone for an hour or two to get the basics without paying an arm and a leg, as I'm not a person with lots of cash on hand.
Thanks
