Applying for UK Citizenship (Questions)
« on: January 06, 2025, 10:55:00 AM »
Hello,

I thought it would be easier to create a new thread so that the main Citizenship thread is not clogged with applicants' questions.

On the application, where it asks you the following;

Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad?
I'm not sure what to answer here. It's no. Or is it yes because we've applied for FLR(M) and ILR(M)?

Proof of living in the UK for Mrs S ****** for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen
Is her Pakistani passport more than enough? Her old and new one? It will show that she has not travelled outside of the UK since entering the UK.

I've just got these 2 questions to get correct and then it's uploading the documents. Nearly there!

@larrabee @ksand24

Thank you,
J

Hello,

When filling out the application it kept on showing a notification banner message stating the following;

Quote
Important

Biometric residence permit (BRP) holders should provide their BRP details, including expired BRPs.

On the 'Reasons for not providing identity documents' page of your application, enter your BRP number and expiry date.

This will help us to process your application.

I've not seen this anywhere on the application (Reasons for not providing identity documents page).

Is this where you upload the documents to the TLSContact website?

I kept seeing that on my ILR application but never saw the "reasons for not providing identity documents" page either.  :-\\\\

I also don't think I saw it when I went to upload documents.

That stopped me in my tracks today, but I still uploaded a scanned document of the old and new BRP and will also do a cover letter explaining. I'll also mention the BRP number(s) just to be on the safe side.

Biometrics was completed today (20/01/2025), the appointment was swift, and it lasted no longer than 10 minutes.

Now let the wait commence, I think the rough estimate is around 2 months before receiving an update on the application from looking at other forums.

Citizenship approval email was received today. Successful!

I now need to wait one day before booking a ceremony date.

How do you apply for the certificate entitlement if you are travelling abroad?

For example travelling before or after the ceremony date (based on availability)
