Citizenship - clarifying questions
« on: November 27, 2025, 11:49:24 AM »
Hi All,

My partner is just getting ready to submit their citizenship application and had a couple of questions they wanted to triple check.

My partner hasn't left the UK since they first landed so do we only need to submit their passport as evidence they've been here for the 3 years they request?

What do we do if we can't find all the dates/references for the previous applications? Do we just write a cover letter to explain we did the best we could on remembering the dates?
First Met: December 2013
Married: June 29th 2018
He Submitted: 18th May 2019
Passport arrived back - APPROVED: 10th September 2019
Landed in the UK: 25th September 2019

FLR (M) Submitted: 19th March 2022
Biometrics Appointment: 4th April 2022

Your partner's passport should be fine as evidence. I scanned every single page of my current one that I need to renew next year and uploaded it to their system after I submitted my application. They'll be able to tell from the stamps.

I dug through my past paperwork to find dates of prior applications. But for my 2nd visa, I couldn't find my reference number and estimated the date based on my expired passport's stamp.

Someone else on this forum suggested looking through my emails to make the best estimate possible and it seemed to work okay for me!

Good luck 🥰
