Oven bags?
« on: January 25, 2005, 02:54:29 PM »
Would I find these in the UK?  These are for roasting meats in the oven, makes the meat ultra tender.

Thanks! :)

Thanks!  I'll have to look more closely when I'm at the store, I searched Tesco and Sainsbury's but couldn't find them.   Wondering what they might be labelled as...maybe I'm looking for 'oven' when it woud read something different.

I've seen them called oven bags and roasting bags.  They're usually with the foil and clingfilm, etc.

I know for sure that Wilkensons have them right next to the ziploc type bags.  I have some in my cupboard, but that won't help you.

One thing I have not found are the turkey sized ones, but the ones they do sell work fine for most roasts here.

Thanks again!  Just returned from Tesco, no such thing there, staff didn't understand what I was searching for.  But can go to other stores, thankfully.

If memory serves -- check near the spices aisle ;)

Or if you have a Lakeland near you, they have lovely 'roasting' bags.

When you do a roast (turkey, lamb, chicken, beef, whatever!) you put the meat and the veggies in the bag.  Cooks everything evenly and the meat ends up being very juicy!
