It's like being back in Catholic elementary school again - hoooold it, hooooold it.... ;)

Popped into a Starbucks the other day. No loo. Fortunately, were going for pizza later and found one in the pizza place....

Oh!  Oh!  I figured out how, after 5 weeks, to use the washing machine with the space-shuttle control panel!!!!!  It held my clothes hostage for quite some time some days. One day the damned thing ran for six hours, and then when I tried to get it to just dry it started the same process again.  :(

But I've got it sorted now. People here in the building hang their laundry out to dry. Which is kind of amazing, because it rains every twenty minutes....

What Starbucks doesn't have a toilet?  Things are very grim up north.

You would think there would be some sort of legal obligation to have toilets in a place that people come to eat and drink?

Nan, here's a list of the public toilets in Glasgow, there are shockingly few of those too!

Byers Road!

I know I am a total ass for picking this out, but I'm going to roll with that label!  ;)
It's actually Byres Road... a byre is a barn/cow-shed!  As in, 'The Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre'!  Wish I could find this great book I used to have about Glasgow in the olden days and how some of the streets got their names, etc.... it was really interesting!

It's tough finding a toilet anywhere.  In April I asked at our local M&S.  I was very obviously heavily pregnant and had a toddler doing the wee-wee dance next to me.  They sent us outside and down a block to a coffee shop.  Luckily we both made it without accidents!

Our M&S bathroom was out of service for a month while they redid it, apparently.  It looks exactly the same so I'm not sure what they were doing.

Wokingham in Berkshire.  No bathroom.  It's a small store and sadly it's closing at the end of the month.   :-\\\\

Yup!  You won't recognise this place anymore.

The M&S reopens the following day in Bracknell at the Lexicon (their new town centre rejuvenation).

You should see Wokingham right now.  Everything from the "other side" of the M&S to Costa Coffee has been levelled.  They are literally tearing everything out!

I'm curious enough to go back and visit just to see how much it's changed since I last lived there. I lived there so long ago that there wasn't even a Costa Coffee! Costa didn't go into massive expansion until late 1995. If I remember correctly, Costa expanded to Wokingham after 2000. I moved from the area in 1999. Strangely, the little town I moved to in the North (Horwich/Westhoughton) had a new Starbucks! They didn't expand to the U.K. until 1998 so that was a strange place to have a new shop. That little town got their first McDonalds in 2000!

I think I need to go back to Berkshire, especially since Bracknell is FINALLY getting rejuvenated. I never thought that would happen! Lol

They remodeled the bathroom in our Waitrose and put in blue lights so that junkies can't shoot up.  Baffled .
