Hi to everyone,
My name is Janna, and I'm 30 years old.
I was born and lived in NW Minnesota for 29 years, and January 2004 I moved to Manchester, England. I met a wonderful british man on the internet in 2001, and we e-mailed, and phoned each other for 2 years until I made the big step and travelled to England to meet him. We met face-to-face in January 2003, and we knew it was love. I had such a wonderful time with him, and I missed him so much that I ended up visiting him again the following month. In September 2003 he came to Minnesota to meet my family, and we officially announced our engagement. So as I said, I moved to Manchester in January 2004, and we were married March 5, 2004. We are now expecting our first child on May 6, 2005 (a girl).
I can't believe how fast this past year has gone since I moved here! I love England, but sometimes I feel like people just don't get me. American humor and British humour are 2 different things I think.....lol.
Finding this site, and learning simple things like, Costco has saltine crackers, makes me so happy! (Now if I can just find jello instant vanilla pudding over here I will be all set...lol)
I knew that leaving my family and friends, and way of life in America and moving over here would be hard at times, and I would be lying if I said I don't miss american things (like Applebee's....lol), but I would not change my life I have now with my wonderful husband for anything.
Anyway, I am glad to have found this site!
Janna
p.s. Since I have been pregnant a majority of the american things I miss are food related.......lol.
