Parcel Force Question
« on: February 10, 2005, 07:19:47 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has used Parcel Force to send documents from the UK to the US.  Fiance has sent all of his documentation for my settlement visa via Parcel Force today.  They told him it should arrive here by Tuesday.  Just wondering if anyone else has used it and how timely they are in general.

Well, I hate to say this, especially since you can't really do anything about it now, but I have had nothing but bad luck with parcel force and overseas packages.  Granted, most of my trouble was recieving thing here in the UK from abroad, but still....I hate, hate HATE them.   >:(

But I hope things get to you on time!  You never know!!

I haven't had the best experience either.  In 2003, DH sent his documents to me via what he thought was FEDEX.  Turns out the idiots at the post office had no idea how to handle that and decided to just send it via Parcel Force (with some sort of additional "premium" service or something).  The documents were promised for 22 September and didn't arrive until 25 September.  Now, granted, that was only three days, but our wedding was 27 September and we HAD to get the marriage license on the 26th!  ACK!   :o

And yep, we went through the "tracking number" fiasco (as mentioned in some other threads).  There's a number, but it's useless outside of the UK.  We ended up calling the airports in NYC to try to find the package.  Stress!   :-\\\\

I have actually reached the point where I don't have the energy left to stress.  I am so tired!!  One more week of work, then fiance's sister and brother in law are coming over to visit and take stuff back to the UK for me.  May as well just sit back, try to relax, and enjoy the last few weeks in the US and do my best not to worry about those papers arriving.  Maybe I"ll be lucky and they will show up on time..........  :)

I used parcel Force in Sept 2004 to mail some very important documents, they got to Tennessee with no problem and on time.

Just as an update: the papers did arrive today- 6 days after being posted.  I had all of my stuff ready, so I just sent it all out priority overnight (guaranteed to arrive at 8 am tomorrow morning).  Here's hoping.  A huge thank you for everyone who offered such wonderful advice and were so kind to me.  I greatly appreciate it.  All I can do now is wait.   (anxiously)
