I just gotta pipe in on this one.. :-)..
I bought myself a  SENSEO machine just after christmas.. It was the best investment i made.. :-)... I can have a nice fresh cuppa whenever i want it.. and doing it a cup at a time its always fresh and hot..
You can get differant strenghts of coffee for it as well. Not lots of choice in the shops but you can get lots of varied ones on the net and have them sent..
I found a site called www.typicaldutchstuff.com
i think thats the site.. just search for coffee pods.. and there is lots of choice for the Senso coffee maker..
I'm definately a coffee snob. :-)

I'd love to have a Senseo... but a sofa & new bed are probably higher up on our list of household purchases. ;)

For Christmas my mom bought me a stainless steel Starbucks mug that is also a french press... it makes about 1.5 cups of coffee... works really well! :)

For our first date, my other half cooked me dinner (fillet steak with all the trimmings YUM) but the clincher was he made coffee afterwards with his very own filter machine!  Think I fell in love then and there!  A man after my own heart!

This is INSANE. These people who prefer instant over real coffee must be stopped!!!!!!  ;)

But the problem is I cant find any decent grounds so I ended up packing it away again :(
Where can I get GOOD grounds??

When I'm totally desperate I use Illy - comes in a can - I think it's Italian. When I'm somewhat desperate I go to Starbucks and get their beans. When I'm on the ball I import it from California where they understand coffee.  ;)

edited to add this: dh didn't understand my NEED for a filter machine either, but now he won't drink instant anymore - he's a total convert!

Illy is indeed Italian....

No Senseo machine for me, but I do have a coffee maker that makes coffee in a thermal carafe.  It makes enough for two of my really big latte mugs and perhaps a little cup for hubby (he never seems to finish a full cup).

I don't really consider myself a coffee snob, but I do find instant coffee rather horrible.  I have a coffee grinder and when we buy good beans I do grind my own.  Otherwise the red version of Douwe Egberts is pretty nice.

Ooooh, I've always wanted one of those! But I'm practically on court order not to bring anymore gadgets or appliances into the house!!  ;)

Do you own one of those Senseo gizmos??

I do, I do!
I love it, and i buy my coffee pods, imported from Germany & Holland, on eBay.
My favourite is Rio... it's got a vanilla sort of taste to it.

I was reading 'O' magazine, and noticed that those Senseo gizmos have now invaded the US.  Maxwell House even has those pods available!
