delayed move after getting spousal visa
« on: February 21, 2005, 06:37:29 PM »
Reading the post about how much time you can spend out of the UK on certain visas etc has got me thinking  :-\\\\
We have just got our spousal visa, unfortunately due to certain problems my husband has there is a chance that he may not be able to move to the UK for a number of months  :\\\'(
When asked on the VAF(2) form when he intended to move we put march as that was the earliest that he could come, but it could also be up to 6-8 months.
Is this likely to have any implications on him getting his leave to remain in two years time ?
I have tried to find some info about this on the official sites but couldn't.
If anyone can shed some light on this matter i would be very grateful.
Thanks a lot.

Stay safe

Jules.

Is he going to be coming to visit you in the meantime?  Because the Spouse Visa will be "activated" when he next enters the UK.  The time spent out of the UK will come into play if/when he applies for citizenship.

It's two years from the date of entry (for the ILR) and three for naturalization.
