Airline Prices
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:37:25 PM »
I moved to the UK in January and am going to be here for 6 months, so I want to take advantage of this opportunity travel.  I've heard a lot about how cheap it is to travel in Europe, but I'm not really finding that to be true.  Trains and buses are ok, but I'm working while I'm here, so they are to slow to use for weekend trips.  I've researched some of the discount airlines, but even those don't seem to offer very good deals for weekend travel.  Does anyone have any good websites or recommendations?  Thanks.

The best deals tend to be at the times that no-one wants to fly  ;)  I was looking for a cheap deal to Brussels for last weekend but the flights were inconvenient and expensive and Eurostar was going to just take too long.  The deals are great if you can plan ahead and be a bit flexible.  Or if you're prepared to spend a weekend somewhere you've never hear of. Haugsund anyone?   Seriously - that's one I WOULD try once it gets a bit warmer.

Best bet is to siply look around at lots of options and decide that you can go where the wind blows
