My husband and I are going to start off in Houston, only because it's a cheap place to get our bearings and we have family to stay with until we get our first place.
After that we have thought about Colorado or Utah. I have never been to either state, but they both look beautiful. My husband would like to live in California, but the cost of living would eat us alive.
If anyone has been to Colorado or Utah, please feel free to give us your views on the states
My husband and I are starting off in Houston too. My mom and step-dad live there so its a nice cheap place to get us on our feet with an instant support network. So far we're thinking it'll only be a spring-board for us but sometimes I get this feeling that we'll be there for ages and ages.
Id love to go home to San Diego - its the one place that I really long for - but as said, the cost of living is just horrible. Maybe some day when we're rich or the california's teetering economy finally nose-dives.
I used to live in Buffalo NY and although not living there has really made me think fondly of the place, I cant say Id want to put myself through those god-awful winters again. No thanks. Hot and humid any day.
I suppose my ideal-besides-california place would be Scotsdale Arizona, New Mexico, or somewhere dreamy in Colorodo like Denver - not that Ive ever been to Colorodo - its just a dream. I didnt have much hope about Mississippi until I went there. I think a holiday home in Natchez would be fantastic. I'll have that Plantation for $20,000 please. Thank you!
Until then Houston will do. Has anyone been watching the Texas Season on Channel 4? I particularly loved "The Fattest City in America: Houston" documentary.
Anyone here in Houston or going there?
