Affordable GOOD sushi in London!

I almost hate posting this as it's like giving away some kind of treasured secret.....but after last night, i have to!  It was just so good.

If you're looking for good, BASIC, high quality and cheap sushi in London, look no further than Misato in Chinatown.

It was FAB.  A bit dodgy looking, 10 min wait.  (There is always a wait, so I've heard).  Food through window looked great.

VERY no frills place but amazing quality sushi for what you're paying.  Not the most adventurous selection-I can remember tuna, shrimp, salmon (cause I had those) plus 3 or 4 more types of sushi plus about 6 different types of rolls.

All sushi about £1 a piece.  The rolls, 6 pieces for £2.75

And the rest of the menu was great.  We had some Tempura but there were many good looking dishes around us: Bento, Udon and Soba soups....etc.

It's totally worth a shot.  We had: 2 beers, a sushi roll, 8 pieces of sushi and 2 orders of tempura for about £24.00 (without service).  Not the most romantic place.....but really good quality and you can't beat the price!  We'll be there.  A lot.    And the clientele is mostly asian, which is always a decent sign!!!!!!

I'd also highly recommend the Feng Shushi chain. We've not eaten in them, but they deliver and they're v.good.

Thanks for the info!  Do either of these places have ribs and wings?  Richard does not eat sushi, noodles, tempura etc.  When we went to Dublin a year and a half ago we went to a sushi place there and he said he had the best wings and ribs there!!!  So if I know they at least have them I can bribe him to come!

There's also a good Yo! Sushi clone on Wardour street, left side if walking away from Old Compton that does serve meat.

Mmmmm, sushi is the first thing I want when I go back to the US to visit!!! Hubs hates it, but if the tempura is good, then maybe I stand a chance at going! YUM.

I arrive home at 6pm next week, we drive into NYC get sushi first thing!  I am counting down the minutes!!!!

There's also a Sushi place in Ealing, across the street from Thames Valley University - Walpole House, on the road just west of st.mary's road.  Sushi was inexpensive but super fresh.  Menu was pretty extensive and they had my favorite Eel roll (yum).

There's also a Mexican restaurant on the same street (about 5 restaurants down) but the food was so-so.  I'd kill for a real burrito.
