I haven't looked at your posts to see where you're going to be in the UK, but for the past week I've been LIVING in cotton sundresses, skirts, shorts, tanks and flip-flops. Even in the evening, it's plenty warm enough for a cotton skirt and flip-flops.

Chary- My boyfriend currently lives in Nottingham, but we're looking to move somewhere near London. Ideally Kent, Reading, Hertforshire etc.. How's the weather in those regions? Reguardless this American is bringing ALL her heels, wedges, flats and flip flops haha  ;D

Of course! You're British!  ;D

But hadn't lived here in 40 years! And I'm half Mauritian too!  ;D

I'm afraid that isn't my area of expertise, LMS. I'm in Cornwall. But I'm sure people around London will pipe up and give you some information.

I'm going to be in Herts.  I don't think that the weather is any better or worse than anywhere else around it.

Do you know about Nottingham or any of the other areas? How do you feel about Hertfordshire's weather? Are you bringing summer clothes as well?

Herts is huge and I'll be in Borehamwood, its basically on top of London.  I'll be bringing all my summer stuff, but I don't expect a lot of it will make more than ocational appearences.  The good thing is that you can layer and keep wearing if you want.

It's not unheard of to see people wearing summer dresses with clomping great boots. Or sandals with an overcoat. Anything goes!

And don't forget about going on holidays! Even if you live in the coldest spot in the UK (wherever that might be), you'll still go off at some point for a sunshine-y holiday, I hope!

I know that's the ideal for a lot of people but never applied in my case -- because holidays always meant going back to Beantown to visit my parents (where we all had second hot-climate wardrobes or else made a quick trip to Marshall's)  ::)

Haha Beantown love it! I'm going to truly miss Ross and Marshall's when I make the move to the UK. Even though those places look like a bomb went off in them HAHA. I also agree summer clothes would be handy to have for holiday/vacation ;)

Well, there's TKMaxx here, which is the same as TJMaxx -- and both are owned by The TJX Companies back in Massachusetts.  And Home Sense is the same as Home Goods (also owned by TJX).

Pretty sure that's near me  ;) :P
When it gets up to a blistering 65ºF on the most boiling day of the summer here, you pretty much wear nothing, because it feels really warm compared to normal.

In Miami, you bring out your winter coat when its 65ºF  ;D
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

I was gonna say that TKMaxx and TJMaxx doesn't seem like a coincidence LOL. Are there any Ross or Marshall's equivalent stores out there? :D

I think TK Max is the only one, but there is Primark.  It's very cheap, but the clothes don't last for terribly long.  I like Neu Look and Next best, but haven't liked any of their clothes for the last few seasons.

The thing about TK Max  that confuses me is that half of the stuff will be in American sizes and half in UK sizes.  It can make shopping extra work!

Well, Marshall's is also owned by the same company as TJ/TKMaxx and they're very similar in the US, so that's probably as close as it gets.   ;)
