Coffee? Please, it's tea now darling.
« on: March 11, 2005, 08:25:24 PM »
Everyone here seems to be "coffee whores" (DUCs words, not mine).

Anyone here got addicted to tea? Never drank it in America. I'd have the odd cup of herbal tea but never drank english breakfast until I moved to the UK. Now I drink 5+ cups a day!

I never drank a lot of coffee either, so I'm not bothered about not drinking it here (especially since most people only offer instant - yuck).

And I seem to like Tetley's more than PG Tips. Don't know why. It could be just because I drink most my tea at work and they have Tetleys.

I drank PG Tips like it was going out of style in England. Having come back to the US it is back to coffee, but that is only because I haven't bothered to buy a kettle yet! Once I have my kettle I'll be back in the tea business. Milk and 1 sugar, please. Well, splenda anyway...

Milk and two sugars for me and it has to be a nice caramel colour. (ie. strong)

I'm not as bad as some, though. My colleague has 5 (!) spoonfuls of sugar in her tea. Blech.

I didn't drink much tea in the US either.  Very much the coffee drinker -- still am.  However, I hate milk in coffee (half-n-half or Coffeemate please!) and most places in the UK only offer milk.  Also, I don't do instant.

So if I'm out, I drink tea.  If I want a hot drink at night, I have tea -- coffee wouldn't allow me sleep!

Ever since my trip to Cornwall last year, I've become a Tea fiend!  At first it was PG, but then my brother came over last Nov - and suddenly it was Earl Grey.  Now I'm a chai-a-holic lol.  :)

I used to drink in the afternoon and evening like it was going out of style.  Then, when I was pregnant with my little guy (now three), for some inexplicable reason, I went off tea.  The taste for it has never returned....

Don't drink tea, didn't in the US either.  It just tastes like wet leaves.   :-\\\\
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

I've found myself drinking tea in the afternoons, but I have to have my morning coffee.  DF is NOT a tea guy--he is a total coffee snob (so, it is fitting that we will be living in Seattle after the wedding for a while!)

I hate coffee and I only drink tea very occasionally, preferably Kenyan tea, with a slice of lemon. Other than that mint  tea is nice after a big meal and I got hooked on iced hibiscus tea in Africa (where it is known as Karkady).   Hubby on the other hand loves his tea. He was a big tea drinker before he ever came to the UK, so is his mother.

I love both coffee and tea, but unfortunately I can't have any caffeine. It does horrible things to me. I've found it hard to order decaf coffee when I'm out in the UK. I ask if they have it, and they say yes, then they give me instant. Blech! The regular coffee drinkers don't have to have instant, so why should I?? Maybe it's cause I'm out on the boonies. I don't know. I have found one wonderful tea room that does a fabulous decaf capuccino. In fact, I had one just this afternoon. Sheer bliss.

In my tea: milk, no sugar please.  :)

I also love mint tea, chamomile, honey, lemon, etc. All those yummy flavours of herbal tea. And chai rocks.

I guess I'm not very discriminating. Bring 'em all on!

Tea is great too, I drank tea way before coffee!!!  I like mine with milk and sweet n' low, yum!!!!

I'm having a lot of green tea now, though skipping the milk in it!

Fancy a brew?  ;)

I drink coffee at home, from the lovely Senseo machine, and i drink tea at work... we have this vending machine that makes the world's strongest cup of tea, and it's brilliant!  I drink 3 or 4 cups of tea a day, and 1 cup of coffee.

Oh yeah, and it's milk, no sugar for me too.

I never drank tea (not hot tea, anyway) until I moved here.  I was drinking a cup or two a day, and was totally addicted but hae had to give it up for decaf which just is NOT the same somehow.  But like belidaloo, the caffine just does nasty things to me.

I've never been too into coffee...but I do enjoy a decaf cup every so often from Starbucks.  Love those lattes!  :)
