I was always into herbal tea in the States (peppermint for sleepy times and ginger when I was sick) but for my caffeine I was a HUGE coffee drinker...had my Starbucks card and everything (with permanent top up when it got below $10)...but now that I've moved here I drink tons of tea.  I think it's my boyfriend's fault as he isn't really a coffee drinker...and didn't have a coffee machine (though he's now bought a french press for me).  I'll even choose it at work instead of coffee at least a few times a month.  So...I guess I like both and will choose both.

I'm still a "coffee whore", because without it, you don't want to come near me.  :D

But I think I drink alot more tea over here though, mainly cuz my boyfriend drinks it alot, so when he makes a "cuppa" I usually have one too. I usually prefer herbal tea though, like green tea, without sugar or anything. But Tetley's with a splash of milk and not too much sugar is really nice occasionally. I love the way it smells.
Plans on hold 'cuz Brexit

Coffee drinker here also but I have a cup of tea once in awhile. We usually buy Tetley's but decided to try PG Tips this time. I dont see the difference.
I get a kick out of the Brits and their "cuppa's". When driving down to Devon last Summer we would stop occasionally at a service area for a break and I thought it was hilarious all the people sitting on and around their cars with actualy mugs of tea. Like real ceramic mugs...entire families with mugs of tea. In the USA when we would go on long road trips we would usually bring a few six packs of pop or stop for a drink but I have never seen people bring regular ceramic coffee mugs on a road trip.

I've beena tea drinker for forever. Mom lived in India as a child and loved tea as a result, so I was drinking it as early as 4 or 5. Love the smell of coffee but simply cannot stand the taste of it. Don't even like coffee desserts or candies. Ick!

I have to watch the caffeine intake as it gives me heart palpitations and affects my migraines. So I usually have 2 or maybe 3 cups of decaf tea a day. I'll drink it any way you give it to me but if I'm making it myself, prefer it strong, lots of milk, and no sugar. I'll also drink chai and some herbal teas - and hot chocolate but it's gotta be Green and Blacks!

The DH and I buy lots of looseleaf teas and make special pots on weekends and such.

He used to drink a lot of instant coffee when he smoked. Now he has the occasional cup of instant but I'm going to buy him a cafetiere-for-one soon as I loathe instant coffee more than anything!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I used to drink tea when I lived in the US. (I was also and still am a 'coffee diva', which I prefer to 'whore'!!) But I have realised since I've lived here that the tea thing was some weird symptom of my Anglophilia. Now that I'm here, I've realised I don't actually like tea at all, and not only that, I find 'tea breath' to be very off-putting. It's like morning breath! Ugh! LOL

I never drank coffee or tea...When I moved here my flatmate said "If you're gonna live here you are having tea"  He used to put a cup of tea everyday at my door for weeks till finally I sat and had a cup. At work around 10ish everyone used to stop for their cuppa...so I felt left out and started drink cups as well....after that I started to get hooked.

DH is a coffee drinker and he's now hooked on Puerto Rican coffee...I love cappuccinos and getting my egg nog latte come christmas time.

Coffee schmoffee.  I think it's funny how some people are so addicted to it.  I can take it or leave it.  Same thing with tea.  When I visited my b/f's family in England and in Scotland, they were all amazed that I was having tea with them, as if the British are the only people in the world who drink it.  Whatever though; it made them like me all the more.

I'm more addicted to Coca Cola than tea/coffee

I used to have a coke or two a day but now I don't drink it much. I can't drink it after 5 ortherwise I'll be up all night (used to be able to drink it right up to bedtime). I prefer milk, water or juice when I'm home now. I drink a ton of milk. About 2-3 gallons a week, just by myself.

Now that my sinus issues are starting to take over my life, I've had to cut back on both as I like milk in them...
but never been addicted to coffee or tea, and always enjoyed both...
So I'm trying to just have Green Tea, but when I'd like a 'regular' tea, I learned through ex-DH, Yorkshire Tea works best with hard water... I think.

Fancy a brew?
Brew?  Wanna brew?  Don't spill it on you or you'll end up in Thambulance   :D

I'm an avid tea and coffee drinker.  I like my tea black, I like my coffee black.  No sugar.  Just black.  Double espressos are great.  We spent some time at a cafe near the beach in Barcelona and had wonderful espresso, gotta love the Continentals and their coffee, mmmm.

Green tea is NOT meant to have milk in it.  That would be completely disgusting!  I drink green tea at home, it is really nice and it is very low caffeine so if I'm in a no caffeine mood I'll drink it, otherwise it's the black tea.

We've learned we can raid the good coffee/tea machine at work that makes the nice stuff so we do that each morning  ;)

I never drink coffee don't think I ever will, and the only tea I am used to drinking is iced tea. When visiting England this last time, I took to drinking hot chocolate, just to have a warm drink. I think with all the coffee and tea drinking going on around me, I ended up having four hot chocolates a day...lol. Had to switch to the sugar free! Funny thing is, since I have been home I haven't had any! Would have thought I'd have withdrawals  :P

My goodness, I can completely relate to this topic... time for tragic tea stories!

When my boyfriend was in the US, he and his housemate used to complain about how disgusting our tea here is.  As a born-and-bred Washington State coffee drinker, I'll usually have four or five cups of coffee a day, even more if I'm working a night shift.  Enter PG Tips.  Boyfriend and roomie finally got fed up with the weak tea they bought at the grocery stores over here and had a friend of theirs bring over a box of PG Tips when he came to visit.  I was treated to cup after cup and now that it's gone (and my baby is back in England!) I am sorely missing it.  Enjoying some in the morning when I got home or right before work... sigh.

There is a store that specializes in food from Europe (salt licorice from Sweden, mmm!) that's about thirty minutes or so away from my apartment here in Georgia and last Monday I drove up looking forward to finally purchasing some of my wonderful tea.  Unfortunately, the people who own the shop had left (undoubtedly to watch the Master's tournament) for three days and I had to return alone, without tea!  I can't even begin to describe how disappointed I was.  But, nevermind, I'll be back again on Thursday, knocking down their doors and demanding my tea!

There really is a difference, isn't there?

(Mind you, I still drink massive amounts of coffee every day, but with a job like mine that's to be expected!)

Linnea
