Flight from Athens, Greece to Manchester

I'm going to be traveling around Europe for three weeks this summer  and need an inexpensive flight from Athens to Manchester. I've already found a VERY cheap on for M'cr to Madrid, but everything from Athens to M'cr seems a bit expensive. Does anyone know of any websites where I should look? Thanks!!!

Easyjet and Ryan Air are usually dirt cheap keeping in mind however you get what you pay for! But you may get a bargain with them if they fly that route. Also try BMI

The cheapest thing I've found so far is £130+ 'fees'. Does anyone know if that's good for a flight from Athens to the UK? My flight from M'cr to Madrid was only £25, so the £130 seems really expensive.

Peak season flights are always a lot more expensive. Keep that in mind!

I don't understand why it's £100 more to get from Athens to Manchester than from Manchester to Madrid...  Even going from Athens to London to M'cr is more expensive!

I happen to be in the company of a well travelled Greek Gentleman today, and I asked him if he had any ideas why it's relatively expensive.  Suggestion is that Spain is a much more popular destination than Greece, and closer.  Also that the flights to and from Spain might be "lossleaders" and the airlines would be out of business if they ran all their routes at those rates.   He does NOT think it's any sort of high landing charges in Greece ...
