You guys actually have pecans in the UK? Really?
Diana

I'm not in the UK now. But yes, there are certainly pecans in the UK - why wouldn't there be? There are walnuts, almonds, peanuts, pine nuts, brazil nuts and most other nuts, too!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Aww, don't worry hon, we have plenty of familiar foods and all kinds of threads on how to get or make foods we miss. We LOVE food on this board.  Stick around UKY and we'll help you get through your transition.  :)

As for me tonight,  I'm going to a friends' house for dinner.

Oh no, Balmerhon, I now have pecan pie on the brain!  ;D Scrummy! (Why don't I see a 'licking lips' emoticon?).  ;D

Probably will has the last of the Nanaimo Bars for puds this evening, but have no idea about supper itself.

Will likely make more Nanaimo Bars this Friday. I'm using up my graham crackers!  :P

Sorry about that! It was pretty yummy. I'd not had it for ages!

I had to go Google Nanaimo Bars... I think I must try these!

This is the best recipe, IMO, but I use walnuts instead of almonds:

At least you have ready access to graham crackers. Thinking it will be takeaway pizza for me. We are lazy on Sundays!  :)

We had a big lunch, so we're just having sandwiches and salad.

Lamb curry, chapatis, popadums, raita, and then strawberries for dessert.

Shepherd's pie (well, cottage pie, I suppose, since it's beef instead of lamb.)

Not sure yet - I think it'll either be bangers & mash with onion gravy and veg, or possibly something quite plain - chicken broth, rice, plain grilled chicken, veg.  DH hasn't been feeling well for several days & depends on what he feels up to eating.  :-\\\\

I think its going to be grilled chorizo and scallops and then going to make a spicy roasted red pepper tomato sauce and serve it all over pasta and a side of cauliflower
