I'm going out for dinner tonight as part of an early birthday dinner with friends. I don't know for sure what I'm going to have but I do know they have home made stuffed tater tots with brie and bacon as an appetizer so I just might have to partake!!

You should definitely partake - you look FAB in your profile pic by the way!

Hrmmm not been eating too great the last few days
Last night was a crisp and cheese sandwich

Tonight I just ate some chili heatwave doritos to last me until 10 pm, as I'm heading out to a seminar, and I am sure not much will be eaten then...cereal? Toast? I don't have much in my cupboards for quick food and thanks to scrounging up for a deposit on this new place, I've got no money for buying anything until the end of the month when I get paid...  :-\\\\

Last night, made one of our favourite pasta dishes that I do from time to time:  onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, Italian-type sausages cut up in bite size pieces, in a sauce with red wine & seasonings, served over penne with grated parm.  And garlic bread (shop bought French stick, cut in half & smeared with butter/raw garlic mixture & put under the grill).  Oh it was so good & I got a really good 'do' on the sauce, even better than usual, DH said.  Also the garlic bread was divine as I got the mixture of garlic & butter just right this time.  With lashings of red wine.

Usually I use the Sicilian style Taste the Difference sausages from Sainsburys, but this time I spied Debbie & Andrew's Harrogate sausages in a Sicilian flavour at Morrisons so I used those instead this time.  The Sainsburys ones have fennel seed like the Italian sausages you would buy in the US, but the Debbie & Andrew's ones don't - so I threw some fennel seed into the sauce.

Oh!  Too much red wine though (we got through two bottles  :-[).  ¡Ay mi cabeza!  This morning.

Tonight - hmmmm, thinking of doing a homemade oven-baked fish & chips but haven't really decided yet.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Mrs R, that pasta dish sounds really good! I may have to try that. I got really burned out on sausages, so I've been avoiding them for a while now. Maybe making a new dish with them would renew my interest.  :)

It was going to be a quick chili con carne for the match tonight, but I forgot to take the mince out of the freezer, so I'm guessing it will be omelettes or cheesy scrambled eggs on toasted ciabatta bread. FIL's hens have been laying like crazy lately, so he keeps giving us loads of fresh eggs!  :D
