Right now I need a drooling smiley!!!! YUMMY!!!!!

How do you make them Cuban style?

Well, I have a few recipes for Cuban and Puerto Rican style.  But tonight I'm cheating (as it's a work day!) and using ones my mother has sent to me from the US!  ;)  They are awesome!  It's the cumin and garlic that make them so lovely!

Yes this thread does tend to make one hungry!  Also, I was thinking as I walked home from Morrisons, how lucky (and maybe even a little bit shameful) it is that all of us have so much good food in plentiful supply to choose from vs the number of people going hungry in the world every day.  (Deep thought of the day.)  Ok, but so as not to bring everyone down, I volunteer to send any brussel sprouts that end up on my plate to any hungry person that wants them.

Did you find the breadcrumbs at Morrisons?

Oh, no -- I didn't need them for tonight, so I forgot to look!  Someone else on the thread was talking about doing something with breadcrumbs earlier & I remembered being frustrated over not being able to find any.  I will look another day -- our neighborhood Morrisons is a little iffy 'cause it's very small, but I imagine that Sainsburys will have them (if I can just get up the nerve to drive there another day!). ::)

I'm getting hungry too!  This thread is great; I've had so much inspiration.

Tonight I'm going to make Fahitas.  I'm going to use steak.  When I do them, I marinate them in cumin, coriander, onion, garlic, fresh ground black papper and lime juice.  I've got some fresh avocado, tomato, red bell pepper and refried beans in which I can mix and match the fillings.... too bad it's only 12:10 in the afternoon now!

We just had taglitelle with the 4 cheeses sauce from Lloyd Grossman. YUCK! Don't try his sauces, they're nasty. The sauce was actually tangy and almost seemed to be off. I can't get the freaking taste out of my mouth.

On a better note, the potato and goats cheese tart I baked on Friday was freaking awesome. I'm going to go post the recipe shortly.

Yeah for the recipe!  I am looking forward to goat cheese tart!

We had... steamed mixed veggies... Skate with caper butter and a few scallops and prawns with Old Bay.  I made chips but only FIL really ate them as the skate was v large.  He had cod and fried eggs.... ::) :P

I've put it up. http://cookbook.uk-yankee.com/link.php?action=detail&id=94

I (obviously) got it from a cookbook. No one in particular, just an average vegetarian cookbook.
