What is "mock duck"?

I had:
Pizza, coffee flavored ice cream, a cupcake and sushi.  Odd combo, I know...but I have been so hungry all week that I just can't stop eating everything in sight!  Good think my wedding dress isn't tight on me or come May I'd be in loads of trouble!

Another cereal night for me as I had a field hockey game last night and too much food would not sit well.  Plus I realized that my flatmate has entirely taken over the fridge.  I understand why she might think it's okay as I tend to spend the majority of time with my bf...but come on...give me SOME space in there (it's American sized too!).  There's gotta be food in there rotting right now as no one person can fill a fridge like that and eat it all in time...particularly here!

Well, pork was still frozen solid when I got home last night, so it will be dinner tonight!

So I improvised and we had all the leftover pasta in the house (shells, penne & tri-colour corkscrew) with a sauce I made up out of the blue.  Olive oil, coarsely chopped garlic (5 cloves!), 2 diced shallots, a pinch of diced red onion I had left over, diced tomato, mixed herbs, two handfuls of frozen spinach, 1 yellow pepper and some chicken meatballs.  Everyone loved it.  Problem with my "improv" nights is that I NEVER make it again, as all the same ingredients are almost never in the house at the same time again...  ::)

My big roast chicken was de-lish!  Looks like I'm gonna be off major kitchen duty for a few days though...we have loads of leftover chicken (we'll have just basic leftovers tonight & then I make other things with the scraps of chicken, make stock > soup, etc).  Though I'll probably do a gravy tonight (didn't do last night) to go with our leftovers.  Hubby made up a big dish of Aloo Chana for Friday night, when his friend comes over for tea.  And then he usually takes over the kitchen on the weekends.

Thanks to Ashley for posting her goat cheese tart recipe!  You know, this thread could be a good launching point for getting more of our recipes into the cookbook?  Just a thought.

last night i had: M&S light cesar salad and a pita with some hummus.

I loooove M&S's caesar salad!

Tonight I'm having posh comfort food: scrambled eggs (with creme fraiche, smoked salmon & spring onions) on toast. Followed by some of the yummy chocolate chip cookies I made this morning!

I want cookies!  Forgot to mention, I made an apple/raspberry crisp for dessert last night -- we ate warm with vanilla ice cream.  (Hubby:  It's too sweet & I'd like it with custard...grrrrrrr - these Brits...custard schmustard) :P

This sounds like my kind of meal!

No idea what I am having!  No food in the house, Rich was going to go see what he could find.  Hmmmmm.  Hope it's a little healthy!

Well now I can do that -- if it's really cold.  Used to love cream with my gran's peach cobbler.
