Heehee!  It is a favorite of mine!

I asked DH last night if he would considering eating the bean dip & chip thing as a meal - and he said YES!  Woohoo - that's tonight's tea & it couldn't be easier!  (I've been tired of cooking lately so I'm so looking forward to him taking over this weekend.)  I'll probably make a little green salad as a first course to go with.

Onetiger - I love samosas & bhajis, etc!  Yummmmm.

That does sound yummy! I might do nachos tonight -- similar idea. I put refried beans, salsa, etc. on top of 'em.

A little grumpy tonight, eh? ;)  I'm not terribly impressed with Morrisons, I'll have to say... But we live on one of the two main 'high' streets in our town, and their grocery is just a short walk down the street from my house.  (I will ask someone there about the breadcrumbs if I'm there when it's not too busy.)  Now, if ever I get the nerve to drive again (after my recent hair-raising first experience) -- I do actually know how to get to Sainsburys in the car, but they are kinda crappy too 'cause the shelves are always bare of whatever it is you want. I am anxious to try Asda but I don't know how to get there! ???  And DH is an anti-Asda-ite from his father's years of running small corner off-licence type shops...so I've not been able to talk him into going there yet.  His parents (as OAPs) shop at Asda themselves now so I no longer see any conflict of interest there?!?! :-\\\\

I feel your pain! The Morrisons at Kirkstall and in town are better (but not great). Sainsbury's stuff is good but as you say, the shelves are always bare - they still haven't got to to grips with their supply problem. And Asda in Holt Park, a quick drive from Horsforth, is newly designed but still dire IMO. At the moment my solution is to shop at Sainsburys or ASDA, and if I have time to go to the farmers market in Leeds every other Sunday, and Harris's greengrocers in Headingley, which is excellent.

Thanks -- I was wondering about the Leeds farmers market?  Is that the same as the Kirkgate Market?  I've seen a couple Asdas about - is the Holt Park one same as the Bradford one?  Seems that the Bradford one is bigger?  I'll have to check out Harris.  I do like picking up odds & ends from M&S when I'm in Leeds city centre also & all we have is a Tesco express nearby (so pretty limited there too).

No, the farmers market is from about 9.am to 11.30 am (but best to get there no later than 10.00)  in the outside area of Kirkgate Market (just above the bus station). It is on the first and third Sunday of the month (first Sunday is bigger) and you can buy all meat, bacon, cheese, eggs, honey, bread, veg  etc directly from the producers - quite a lot of it is organic. There is a similar set up in Otley but I'm not sure of the day, you can probably find it on Google.

I don't know the size of the Bradford Asda, but the Holt Park one is much nearer to you.
Harris's greengrocers is in North Lane, Headingley (next to the now defunct Lounge Cinema and opposite North Lane Wholefoods (which is also a useful shop). Mr Harris is a really nice person and will also deliver if you want.

Not if you eat it all really really fast!  ;)

Last night - hubs made a pasta thing with some of my leftover homemade sauce & other stuff.

TONIGHT:  Ooooooh -  he's doing an Indonesian Rendang (spicy beef, veg & potatoes, rice--maybe comparable to curry but the Indonesian version?).  It's smelling sooo good, I told him I don't want just that -- I want the WHOLE RIJSTAFEL!!! And that would require a trip to Amsterdam...  [smiley=smitten.gif]  Please jet2 - we need a good deal!! :)

Maybe sometime between July & Oct?  <sigh>

I made Spinach Lasagna last night.  I was not to thrilled by it, the DH and boys loved it.  Not sure what to make for dinner tonight.  I think I need some inspiration.

Last night had a caesar salad - was in the mood and some garlic toast.  Yum.  Tonight I'll probably have pasta - it's good for post-workout (go running with my hockey club).

Last night we had leg of mutton marinaded in harissa paste, and slow roasted in a casserole with potatoes, spring greens, and a yoghurt and mint dressing. and stewed rhubarb with grated orange and cinnamon for pudding.

Mmmmmm - I'm coming to HME's house for dinner next Sunday. I'm not a rhubarb fan ("Never rub another man's rhubarb" - The Joker) but DH is!
