I think I'm gonna have some of my famous homemade black bean soup.  DH isn't a huge fan of soup, so I'll make him something to go along with it...maybe a sauteed chicken breast and some veggies?

She buys them dried, like I do.  Sainsbury's carries them with their other dried beans.  Then you have to SOAK them for DAYS AND DAYS AND DAYS.

Well, it just seems like that!

Or you can cheat and use a slow cooker or pressure cooker!

I cut down to one red meat day a week so tonight its spicey pepper steak with small cabbage. (thanks Peedal) :)

 ;D  We each had a small cabbage last night with our bangers & mash - yummy!  They steam up so well!!  Glad to see you're "spoiling" yourself!  ;)

I'm playing in a hockey (field hockey) game tonight so I need to eat something that won't sit too heavy on my tummy...and have to eat it relatively early.  Hmmm...I guess I might try to find a sweet potato or yam or something and bake that...and have some cheese and crackers alongside!

You been spying on me?   ;)   Yep, I buy them dried.  Soak overnight and boil for about an hour and you're ready to go!   :)

OK, how do you steam them?  Also do you put anything on them or eat as is?
