salad (again)  *sigh*

I am envious of all the fabulous cooks on here. I've never had the time to learn properly.

Going to make DH a burger, some homemade potato wedges, and a salad.

I'll probably make a taco salad for myself.

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

Chicken and chips (c & c, as the DH and I have begun to call it).
I was born in the Summer and at Night...my mother named me AUTUMN DAWN.  True story.

DH is roasting chicken thighs topped with condensed cream of chicken soup, which mixes with the chicken juices and makes a nice sauce... he will serve this over rice.

Last night I made a stir-fry...a bunch of roasted veggies plus chicken.  Made my own sauce of soy sauce, honey & hoisin sauce...it was yummy!

That's almost exactly what I'm making tonight, minus the chicken.  Asperagus, water chestnuts, pea pods, onion, carrot - over jasmine rice with similar sauce.  Mmmmm!

Pork stir-fry with snow peas (or mange-tout as they are called over here), scallions (spring onions), garlic, ginger, chilis, a little soy, a little fish sauce (nam pla), a little rice wine vinegar & hoisin sauce plus basmati rice.

Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
