Oh how embarrassing no-one ever gets mine!! I'll give you some clues: they were from Scotland and were on the 4AD label and were also involved with This Mortal Coil at various times.

Clue No. 2  two words
                  1st word -  burglar's tool
                  2nd word - self-service

Clue No.3   1st word - force open
                  2nd word- type of car on British trains

as an added bonus this is the first verse of one of his biggest songs

Aww yeah they're a band!  I've got a couple of their albums!  Good one.  I kept thinking of "Los Lonely Boys".
