Site launch
« on: April 04, 2005, 09:06:38 PM »
In case anybody missed it, the new Tribunals site was launched today.   It marks the beginning of the new system where the adjudicators and the IAT are being merged into what is, hopefully, a more responsive appeals service.  Also note that they are moving the whole appeals system into the Department for Constitutional Affairs, which is a major shift.  The site is at:  http://www.tribunalsservice.gov.uk/  but there's not a lot there at the moment.  The new rules are given here:  http://www.dca.gov.uk/consult/asylum/asylum-immigration-fast-cp05-05.htm

Interestingly enough, it does contain a link to http://www.advicenow.org.uk/ - which is on the advocacy side.  Not to mention a great reference resource...

And finally, the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner rolled out their newly revamped site at:  http://www.oisc.gov.uk/    It's seems a little bit buggy yet, but the content is well embellished.  My own listing - which they finally fixed the spelling - is at the top of page http://www.oisc.gov.uk/adviser-finder/01-show-all-htm.asp?letter=G&allFormat=&allOrgChargeType=N  Why under 'G'?  Who knows.

OH!  I forgot, the new JCWI Manuals are out, and the 5th edition of Phelan & Gillespie's Immigration Law Handbook is out next week, should be at Waterstones by the end of this month...
