What to do when spousal visa expires
« on: April 06, 2005, 10:33:48 PM »
Hi,
I am from the UK but my wife is American and we have been living here for almost 2 years since we got married. Her spousal visa expires in August and I was just wondering what we do next. I read that you can't apply for dual citizenship until 3 years have passed so I was just wondering what to do in the meantime. Any advice or info would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Your wife needs to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain, we have loads of threads about the process so have a browse around, you will often see it referred to as "ILR. " If you still have the letter tha tcame with her origianl visa there should be some details in that too.
