I did find the men taking the kid rather upsetting... and the flashback to all of them getting on the plane rather emotional; especially Locke  :\\\'(

Ditto, the Locke shot, his face, when he smiled at Jack.  I wanted to cry!

Ditto.

And how much do you just LOVE Hurley. He's got to be my favorite character. He's sweet and funny and he can run like hell through an airport.

I agree! i usually hate those  3 minute  massengil commercial type  things they do  where it's  just action and no talking..  but THAT was very nice...and emotional as well..   believev me ..riding on planes is not the same for me anymore  after this series..

LOL

It's SO HARD now for me to choose just one, I'm interested in nearly all of them now.  Locke's been the one I want to know the most about since the first moment, but now I adore Hurley, am further intrigued by Jin, and am really willing to invest the time to see Sawyer lighten up and have a few more pussycat moments!
Hurley's dealio last night was totally entertaining, but man, every time Locke shows vulnerability, or grins... I'm ...  I don't even know the right word.  Completely taken in.

I know what you mean. I love Charlie and I'm really liking the story between Michael and the kid (his name escapes me at the moment). The character development is really good. Although, I must say, I'm not happy with the way Kate has gone. I dunno what it is exactly but I used to really like her and now not so much.

Well, maybe when they start showing more back story of Kate and Charlie, I'll get into it, but right now... SO BORED with both of them; particularly Kate.  Same facial expressions, same dialogue... but that's okay, I'll wait.

I like Michael and his son (Walt? Or is that the dog?), Jin & Sun, and Claire a lot. I see the most potential for deep characters there. I'm a little over all the emphasis on some of the others. I wasn't crazy about Shannon before, but I like her more since Boone was killed. Maybe it's seeing her take care of the dog; I don't know. Charlie is another of my faves -- I can't believe he took the heroin/nun!!!

But there's a bit too much Kate & Jack & Locke for me.

I've been exploring www.tv.com and found out the following:

Claire named her baby Aaron, which was Moses's brother's name ... this ep was titled Exodus. (They've also been on the island for 40 days)

During the Hurley flashback, those numbers appear again. His hotel room is 2342. On the panel of his rental car the numbers appeared again: 42km, 16kph, 23 deg. On the screen of the Oceanic Air computer: "Arrival 1?:42." A group of (volleyball? handball?) players with numbers on their shirts: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and of course 42. The big sign "Gates 14 thru 23", "Gate 23" and, last but not least: If you look closely, you'll notice exactly 42 people standing in the line where Hurley tries to pass through.

People think about this show way more than I do!  :)

I like Shannon a whole lot more now also....for some reason. Although her voice is a bit annoying at times  :P
I wouldn't even mind seeing more of her and Sayid together.

Are these others modern-day pirates or something?

My highly uninformed guess would be they're part of "them - they're coming" weird folk from the island or something... since they wanted "the boy"... Claire's baby... dunno.

I also think they are from the island...the "others"...just wondering what they are...CIA? Pirates? Drug smugglers? Must be something there that no one wants anyone else to find since the security system is quite elaborate!

What did you think about Jack getting nominated  as  best lead actor  for LOST and  Sayid for supporting?
