The window looks good, Andee!  :)

I was at Morrisons today around noon & it was heaving as usual, but I managed to find a till with just a couple people in line.  The man in front of me had already unloaded his trolley & it had been a whole trolley full of stuff, but I had only 3 items.  He told me to go ahead of him since I only had just those 3 things.  Very nice!  :)

Thanks but it's all picked over now--just the dregs and second and third best outfits, plus all the red accessories are just about gone.  It was a week ago that I did it and it was ripped apart within the first couple hours we were open!

My work being as enjoyable as it was yesterday was a real IA.  I had a fun and quite multi-cultural day.  First I worked with a new volunteer who is from the Czech Republic and had almost no English at all--but I really like her and we laughed over the fact that she couldn't understand me at all, but with a little bit of 'play acting' I got across to her that next time she was in she should bring her Czech - English dictionary and I'd be able to communicate with her better (and vice-versa!)

Then I discovered that my French volunteer had a Jewish grandmother (whom she was named after) who was taken by the Nazis and died in Auschewitz (sp?) a week later.  It wasn't a fun conversation but I got to know her better and see that we share a little bit more than before.

Then I stayed late to do my St. Pat's window--I was super excited to do it and found even more stuff to put in it besides the huge pile I already had (Dubliners and Clanaad Cds, books on Celtic Mythology and Frank McCourt and other Irish authors)

Periods of snow throughout the day. It wasn't forecast, and it melted as it landed, but it was certainly pretty as it came down.

My former neighbour just got in touch to tell me that the flat I was in for 5 years has been re-banded by the council and that it's retroactive to 1997. That means a big fat council tax rebate for me. Yay!  :D

After searching since Halloween for Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Spice tea, I finally accepted spring was here and it was hopeless. It is in all the grocery stores and Walmart every year, just before Thanksgiving, even during the years I was in the UK (and family mailed it to me). My brother's girlfriend found it a few days ago and they bought me four boxes. Joy!

Bathing suit shopping wasn't horrible. And god bless America and its amazing selection of tankinis. I could only ever find a couple in Dublin and they weren't great.

Flip flop season! The weather has finally broken here in NY, at least for the rest of the week. I got a pedicure today and I'm enjoying my skirt with no tights and flip flops. It's supposed to be almost 80 tomorrow and Wednesday! It'll be a little cooler by the weekend but I'm happy with this for now.

Wow!  Here is Yorkshire, I'm still wearing a t-shirt underneath two sweaters plus a jacket under a thick coat, gloves and a scarf.  The only flip-flopping going on around here is in my dreams.

I finished my work early yesterday and sat outside on the balcony for the rest of the afternoon. You know my feelings on sunshine and heat, but I was welcoming it yesterday!  ;D

Kitten followed us downstairs (with some coaxing) yesterday (he's been in his *bonding* room since we got him on Saturday, once in the living room he did not hide, but instead jumped around and was altogether very lively and playful, spent a lot of time leaping into our laps and kneading us, walked up and licked my nose when I was lounging on the sofa :D

Generally very affectionate and cute, does attack my hands a bit though (just mine) have been telling him "no" and witholding affection (very temporarily) but not sure what to do here as he's SO new/young.

This morning he wasn't hiding when I went in his room, he did hide when I came in but came straight out again when I called him, and we had some cuddles and playtime before I went to work.

yay kitten!!! :)
