Well, first you get bombarded by every child you know having a school fundraiser at once. Then you feel like you either adore each child and/or are close enough relative to need to buy from them. Then you realize you have bought so much some of it needs to be frozen. After a about month it becomes Thanksgiving and Christmas treat time so you have so much yummy stuff in the house you forget about the frozen cheesecake and other treats. Then somehow, as it always happens, other things get placed over the cheesecake. After a while it becomes June and you decide to weed through the freezer to see what is good and what can be tossed. About halfway down the freezer... holy cow! Pumpkin cheesecake! Just as easy as that.  ;D

LOL!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Hubby, who is a die hard cat hater, and Bomber, who is a die hard human hater, seem to have forged a friendship of sorts. Bomber is 13 years old and very laid back. He only tolerates being petted as you are feeding him. Lately he seems content to sit by hubby, or lounge at his feet. With any other cat, hubby would be telling it to get away, because the rest of them demand attention. They are all outside cats, offspring of generations of barn cats dating back to when my great grandparents owned the place.

It makes me happy to see them get along, although they are largely ignoring each other, but sitting close to each other.

I do too. I thought hubby would never like a cat, ever. I also thought Bomber would never like a human. They seem an unlikely pair, so it makes it a perfect fit. :)

Just had a really great today! I took a pilates class this morning, then we took the baby to the pool which he LOVES (DH had never been swimming with him before), then off to Target. We had steaks on the grill with our first corn of the season. Oh, and beer.  ;D

We went to a new open mic yesterday and it was the most interesting and fairly eclectic open mic I've ever been to including a couple (he was in his 70s and wife was maybe 60s) who may have been Romany gypsies (not entirely sure about that as they sort of didn't look it), but anyway, they did Romany gypsy music--him on banjo, her on madolin.  So cool!

The hotel my friend manages is switching from a faintly cinnamon scented lotion, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner to the Bath & Body Works White Citrus scent of all of them. I mentioned how although I love the new scent, I really loved the old one, and the lotion made my skin happy. He gave me a bag with about 40 tubes of the lotion and said there was more of it when I wanted it.

They are still using the cinnamon scent on one floor, but only have so much time before they are out of compliance and have to quit completely. They were given a time frame to try to use their stock up, during the switch.

Calling up insurance companies who are not only helpful and polite, but they actually refund  you money rather than charging you more!  :D

My UP was getting talked into buying the world's best maritime-y dress by this here incorrigible scamp. But I regret nothing. It's what I'm going to wear the first day working in the office at my new job (I'm freelancing ahead of starting, seems a waste to wear it whilst lounging on the couch).

We had a huge, horrible, midwest 'hell and damnation' storm blow through earlier. Hubby (who hates cats) saw Bomber (the only cat he not only tolerates but seems to have a mutual respect and liking for) on the porch, cowering and trying to stay dry. He told me to bring him in until the storm was over.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

I have mentioned him before, but Bomber is a nearly 14 year old barn cat, who is used to all kinds of weather, but hubby was concerned for him. Awww..

Not completely unexpected because of how mom is, but a very nice surprise today. We are moving Friday, and mom went on a necessities shopping spree for us. She got all sorts of cleaners, laundry supplies, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, a mop bucket, etc.

We were intending to hit Walmart Friday evening or Saturday morning in our new town to get all this stuff, but she saved us a bundle of money. She's already gone through the kitchen and gave me spares of brand new towels and dish cloths, bowls from her wedding dish set (which hold all kinds of wonderful childhood memories for me), and given us a bunch of non perishable food to start out with, in addition to a lot of things that belonged to my grandmas and great grandmas that she was going to give me one day anyway.
