DH and I were invited to tea at the House of Lords!  DH met a Lord (ok please someone tell me what they're called - a Lord of Parliament?) at a conference he just attended, he sent this gentleman a note saying how nice it was to meet, and voila!  An e-mail invite saying he would be happy to have tea with us at Lords!  Way cool - and I'm already wondering what to wear!

He is a 'Peer of the Realm'.

Don't wear jeans or trainers, but otherwise be smart/casual.  Go to the gift shop if you can, it's fabulous.

Realizing I am at the time in my life where I know I am stronger than I thought I could be.

Having a productive day at work after the holiday!  :D

Kirsty emailed me the 'hamster dance' video just to give me a laugh... :)

When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Getting an email from my English guy saying he stayed up til 1AM (on a work night even) waiting for me to come on, hoping to talk.   [smiley=smitten.gif]

Going to a big family dinner last night, and then hearing my 80-year-old aunt relate stories about my great-grandfather. A former London bobby, after his wife's death he later (pre-World War I), toured the world with his "friend," Mr. Simmonds!! My great-grandfather was gay!!!  :o

The trainees for my 9:30 session all had to back out at the last minute -- which means I'm completely free for the rest of the day!  Thank goodness -- I was so NOT looking forward to talking for 4 hours this morning!   :D

Have to add yesterday's UP -- came home to a lovely dinner cooked by DH.   :-*

Not exactly unexpected -- though with the weather here, you can never be sure -- our garden is on the verge of bursting into full summer bloom.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Getting a really sweet card from a co-worker acknowledging my last day and impending marriage.  And since I was going to the UK the only thing she could think to put in it was money!  It made my heart melt.

Getting word that I got invited for a second interview after complete tanking (it was a 42 min train wreck) on the phone interview. I don't know if they're just desperate or the universe is smiling on me.

Downloaded 'I'm Gonna Be' by the Proclaimers onto my iPod....nice upbeat ditty w/the Edinburgh accent that I'm really missing at the moment...

Also signed up for some 'podiobooks' at podiobooks.com.  Serialized books sent out in podcast form.  Most of the books I've never heard of but they sounded interesting.  I also subscribed to the Wizard of Oz for the kiddies...
