Virgin Mobile was offering free sim cards for one day only, and so dh signed me up, since I was busy at the time (I don't have a mobile yet), and I got 4 in the post today, the maximum amount they were giving out!  I'm so excited to have a mobile finally!

Aw, G-Q, I hope you were able to have a good cry at some point- sometimes it helps.  Sorry for the bad news....

My unexpected pleasure was my husband being home today and going for a picnic in the Minster Gardens, and having a lovely time watching the children play.

Oh dear Q-G, sorry about the bad news... :(

My UP - got home from work last night to find that my Keen flip-flops had finally arrived.  Woohoo!  Now I have a spare set!  :)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

the people around my neighbourhood crack me up sometimes!  ;D

I went to co-op on the walk there is an retired man (maybe early 70s) that has this amazing garden ..it's small but he manages to plant every single flower in that little area of land! Sunflowers , lilacs , lavender it's heaving. Anyway I am walking home and as I pass his house he pops out of his house to throw out rubbish. I smile and nod at him just to be friendly. He looks at me winks and says "Sorry dear , I'm taken" walks back into his house.

LOL!! Rats! :-X

Had a productive 'shopping' day today.  It's my day off and also my sister's birthday, so I had to go into town to get her present.  There's a bag she saw at Target that she really wanted, and she's NOT a bag kind of person!  Small messenger type, canvas, camo....they still had one left!  So picked up that and a funny birthday card for her.  Stopped at another store and picked up an Irn Bru to go with it because she loves Irn Bru but doesn't treat herself to one very often.  (And a diet Irn Bru for me...and a Curly Wurly... :-[)  Then popped in to Bath and Body Works just because I was close by.  They had a new 'Cinnamint' Mentha lip gloss advertised.  I've ALWAYS loved the combination of cinnamon and peppermint.  But alas...the display was empty.  Asked the saleswoman if they had any more and she said no but would I like to try a sample.  So...when she reached in her pocket for the sample tube, she found a brand new, still sealed, unopened tube of the Cinnamint!  AND...the mentha lip glosses were on sale!  Double score!!!  Finally, shopped around for some temporary health insurance for the kiddos, as they're going to stay w/my parents for a month while I get things set up for us in Edinburgh.  I don't want to leave my parents in a position where they'd be financially responsible if something should happen to the kids in my absence.  Found a policy for under $200 for the time period I need + a little buffer.  Woohoo!  ;D

Total aside here...but does anyone else remember the gobstoppers you used to be able to get that alternated layers of really hot cinnamon with really strong peppermint?  This was probably 25 years ago.  I don't think they made them for very long, but I loved those!!! [smiley=smitten.gif]

Thought we would surprise Jessica Friday morning by getting her presents out and we filled some birthday balloons plus we've been hiding the birthday cards she got in the post. So when she gets up in the morning Surprise!! Definitely an unexpected surprise for her in the morning  ;D
