Jamie taking the time to stop by and see me when work sent him out on "a run".  His love and thoughtfulness sustain me.

The arrival of a special package, from a special person, which has made me smile. :)

And, writing a new poem, even though the poem wasn't exactly cheery; at least I'm writing.

Great news... and writing, in my opinion, is one of the finest forms of self-expression and therapy! ;)

I don't know if this a unexpected pleasure or not but.....we stopped into a furniture shop yesterday looking for a cheap bed base for my son for his flat..a friend of ours has given him a double mattress...and the guy said that is a shame you didn't come in a couple hours ago......i just took a load to the tip..double divan bases........

 :-[

We explained why we needed it...he said do you need anything else..we said everything..he said would you be interested in a suite?? I asked how much??? He said £50 for a 3 seater and a 2 seater.....I thought this is probably piece of sh*t........they look almost NEW!!!!!! It was a suite that someone got rid of cause they had purchased a newer suite........£50........We had to wash the removable covers..but oh it is soooo comfortible..and in the right colour for what we have painted his living room in..........We still didn't get a base for his bed tho.........

LOL

Spent over an hour just sitting out in my Florida room, ceiling fan whirrrring, windows wide open with a nice coolish warm breeze, reading a magazine and listening to the crickets start their evening speeches while the sun turned everything the color of a warm fuzzy peach.

I have crummy neighbors on that side of the house, so I seldom get to sit out there until I get some window treatments up on that side.  They weren't home this evening, so I got to enjoy the room for the first time in ages.  I forgot just how much I really love that room, and all the hard work that went into turning it from a total dump into something from a magazine cover.

Ahhhhh....bliss.   :)

What's a 'Florida room'?

My unexpected pleasure is that I finally fell asleep at 3AM despite both nostrils being blocked up due to raging sinusitis and also having acid reflux.  Ah, the wonders of 3rd trimester pregnancy!  The baby didn't seem at all bothered and kicked away all night.   :\\\'(

It's a room that is mostly windows, sort of like a conservatory, but more room like and less "green house" like.  Usually, in the northern states, they are only two or three season rooms as they are not heated for the winter.  Some people call them sunrooms.

So sorry baby kept you up!!!  Hope you are feeling better.

When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Last night my sister called me!  It's been ages since I talked to her.  It really wasn't unexpected that she called - I knew that she was going to call because my mother had told me she was going to; I just didn't know when, exactly, she was going to call.  It was so good to hear her voice and laugh with her and cry with her (about the baby).  Plus - as an added bonus - I got to talk to my 5 year old neice.  My nephew (7), however, is going through a shy phase, so he wouldn't get on the phone.

We talked for nearly an hour.  It was lovely...and theraputic, too. :)

OK I have enjoyed buying stuff for care package time..and the funny thing was that I went to Sainsbury to get some cigs for Phil...and thought what the hell I'll buy a scratch card ..told Jess pick which one I should buy she did ..we scratched it and won!! so the money I spent on care goods I got back from the scratch card.... ;D

A total stranger just walked into my office to ask about employment opportunities for her SIL.  She's just moved into town, and ended up offering me all of her good moving boxes/bubble wrap/etc.....for FREE!!!  ;D ;D ;D

(See, it really does pay to be nice to people! ;))

Going to the park today ...it's blazing hot in London ... ;D so Jess and I picked a spot under a  tree and just lounged ...then two girls (maybe 12ish) sat under a tree yards from us one began to play her guitar and the other began to sing...Jess got excited and asked if she could go over I told her she could but perhaps ask they may not want to be disturbed...she went other shyly and it looked like they were fine with it and she sat by them and they all started to sing and play...it was nice :)
