Got a phone call from my mother last night...with some very good news!  Don't want to give details on the forum for fear of jinxing things, but things seem to finally be coming together for me!

Also, will be taking a few weeks holiday in the states next month to spend some serious time with the family.  (This one wasn't unexpected, but will definitely be a pleasure!)
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

Finding out my best friends in the US got married in their apartment on Christmas Day! ;D  I knew they were going to get legally married sometime this month, because he finally got a permanent job with health insurance -- which they both so needed, and this way she can be on his insurance too.  They hope to have more of a wedding celebration in the future when they can afford it.

I'm just so happy for them.  They were almost homeless at the end of summer, and now they have their own place, they both have steady jobs, and now got married too!

Plus Christmas Day will always be a triple-celebration for them now -- being Christmas Day, it's her birthday, AND now their anniversary too.

We had a lovely New Years Eve at home!  First, a bottle of Bucks Fizz & nibbles around 6-7 pm.  Steve made a roast pork dinner that we ate about 9-10 pm, including a deliciously decadent 'Hot Chocolate Pudding' (think gooey brownie sort of thing in a ramekin, with a gooey chocolate center).  Tunes on the stereo, followed by watching Jools Holland.  Yorkshire-made sparkling wine starting around 11 pm.  We watched out our windows at fireworks that were going off around the neighborhood.  Phoned friends & family just after midnight (after the fireworks stopped).  And then to bed. :)

Thanks everyone!  :)

I'll be away starting next week, back probably mid-February, but I've learned never to count on anything until it actually happens!  ;D
