Went to, of all places, JC Penney last night to look for a Christmas gift for a little girl I've "adopted" for gift giving.  Ended up finding two gorgeous suits for myself on big clearance for $19.99 each!!!!  And found my jewelry for the wedding on sale too - beautiful pearl and rhinestone drops and a matching bracelet.  AND, while in line, I heard the couple behind me talking about coupons.  I mentioned that I don't get the paper so I guess I'm missing out - so he ran to the front of the store for me and got me a sale flier that saved me another $10 off the sale!  Two suits and the jewelry for $50.  What a find!!  And what a nice guy!  :)

Anytime hubby asks if I want him to make my dinner! This is just so pleasantly shocking as he just doesn't cook, it's always someone else cooking for him  ::) These moments are rare and somewhat far between, but when they do happen, I'm on cloud 9  ;D

Also, when I'm out and I find American foods that I used to have back home, I feel like my day's been made!

No!  I was so dissapointed!  I am on the list for buying her a little cd player for her room.  I found the exact one I wanted on their website, but when I got to the store I found out they don't carry it in store, only online.  So I will go to Best Buy and get her another one I've found.  I also need to ask the coordinator of the project what the girl's age and size is because I wanted to get her some other girly things when I was shopping last night but didn't know enough about her.  :(  So it will be back to the mall for me next weekend.

The children in this program are wards of the State.  The have been removed from their own homes due to drug use, abuse, lack of care, what have you.  They will live in this group home, which is more like a dormatory, until they are 18, at which time they will need to make a life for themselves.  The State helps them prepare for this by teaching them the skills they will need to manage money, find jobs, etc.

I walked into the kitchen today and saw my husband making chocolate and rice crispy cakes.. how freaking funny was that?? The guy doesn't cook, he doesn't bake, he doesn't do anything that has anything to do with the kitchen, and he's making these cakes. I just watched him and he seemed to be enjoying himself. I thought it was amusing and adorable, I enjoyed watching him do this  :P

Found the Cajun Night Before Christmas in the local Barnes & Nobles today! Just perfect gift for my grand nephew and thought I'd have to order it online!

Went to cut down a Christmas tree today. I knew it would be fun, but watching my son and nephews scampering around trying to find the perfect tree was great. This was the first year we've had a real tree since my eight year old can remember.

Now, the wrestling for an hour trying to get the &*^# thing in the tree stand once home is another story...  :-X ::)

When I tell my two-year-old "I love you", he usually blows a kiss in return.  Last night he actually said "I love you"!!!  I'm over the moon!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

Having my 2 year old daughter say to me "I love you" for the first time!  It was a long time ago, but still one of my most precious memories
