I'd got up at 3.15 cos the dog was crying, and couldnt get back to sleep!

unexpected pleasure of the day... hm, not much, but i suppose the fact that i didnt fly into a screeching rage when a gang of neds threatened to break my car windows was pretty good and unexpected...  for me!
I just said 'it's ok... i have insurance', and walked away.
I feel pretty good that i didnt rise to their bait... but i will not feel quite so smug when i go out in the morning and find my windows broken!  :-\\\\

Daffodils! In bloom everywhere!! Already!!   [smiley=daisy.gif]

(Global warming really shouldn't be a pleasure, but it still makes me smile to see flowers in January)

Getting a posh new Diaper bag from my sister's BF who works for Tommy Hilfiger and being told there will be more when she sees ones she likes.  (I love that!)

Figuring out that I can renew my library books on-line, and they will email me a notice 3 days before they are due!!! Yeah! No more late fees!!!! And I can search their database through their website, find the books I want, and they will pull them for me and hold them for five days...so I can just run in and grab what I want/need!  :D

Ok, I have another one:

I work at a very big church here in the southern bible belt, and there is a huge pre-school ministry (+300 kids). Every summer/spring (March-mid Aug) they hire an intern.......And I've just been asked if I want to go through the application process for it!!!  :D  I would get tons of experience, plus it wouldn't look to bad on my CV someday. I'm flattered that they asked me. But I dont have the job for sure yet.

(keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed!!!!!)

Helpful people at Glasgow Public Enquiries Office, from security staff to the immigration officer himself, while we were getting my FLR.

Another British guy and American girl there at the same time doing the same thing most likely, a lovely red-head with a gorgeous smile, and us sharing an "I got my visa grin" while waiting for the documents to be returned.

Finding my husband's CV and having it to copy for format as I am writing out mine.

I am, but that's not until somewhere around August 23rd or so.

This internship is from March-mid Aug. (and I get paid for it!!!!!!)

So I'm going to do both!

Yesterday was my last day in the office (I quit my job) & my work mates had decorated my desk with balloons & confetti, plus got me a nice card & pressies -- a crystal wine glass that's supposed to hold a WHOLE bottle of wine (there's an inside joke with that one) and an Ann Summers fragrance gift set.  Then we went out for drinks & dinner after work, for my leaving do.

I guess they must have liked me! :)  I loved the people there (my work mates) but hated the job & the management of the place.  I really hope they all (me included) find great jobs & employers that really appreciate them.  (Everyone is looking for another job!)  They said they would miss me 'cause I stood up for everybody & I helped to (humorously) take the p*ss out of management which added entertainment value to the day.
