I make a deadly good homemade mac and cheese.  Start with a white sauce of real butter and whole milk, then add Pinconning cheese (it's a Michigan cheese).  Mmmmmm!!!!  Bake it with buttered bread crumbs on top till it's bubbly and brown.  WOW!  I can't make it just for myself, it makes too large a batch.  I've tried making it smaller and it just doesn't turn out.  I'm really looking forward to making it with some good English Cheddar one day, I think that would be really good.  What, other than cheddar, would be a good domestic cheese for mac and cheese, once I'm there?

Oh man,, I wish I hadn't seen this thread,, now all I want is a huge bowl of mac and cheese. I like the kind that you squeeze out of the packet, and is all gooey. Velveeta and cheese,,,,,,,,,,,,,yummmmmmmmmmmmm. I like to mix a can of rotel tomatoes in mine. It makes it a kind of Mexican mac and cheese :)  VERY tasty.

Oh YES! I love it both plain AND with tomatoes! Headed out for the evening.....might have to drive through El Pollo Loco and get a side of mac and cheese to satisfy this urge!

Making it from scratch is good -- but there's SOMETHING about that blue box that's just.....   [smiley=iloveyou.gif]

It's  OK.. I never had it growing up..ever!! My mom  always cooked things fresh  and is an amazing cook.. so we just never had it.. my mom didn't know any  different.. It wasn't a snobby thing...
so when I went  to college and tasted it.. I was in LOVE!!  after college whenever I'd visit my best  friend, I'd always ask her to make mac and cheese  which was  a luxury to me.. she'd laugh because her experience  was more like  a necessity thing because her mom just didn't cook at  all..

Lookie what I found in a grocery store I've never been in before! We were in a part of town I'd never been in before either, and I found this!! Haven't tried it yet, but it reminds me of Kraft mac and cheese. Can't wait to do some up! Anybody else tried this brand?

Marshalls are a Scottish brand, and we have lots of their products here.
Their mac & cheese is ok, but it doesnt taste like Kraft.

I have a box of Macaroni and Cheese that I brought back from the States.  For some reason it makes me think of my childhood. Sort of like a comfort food with no gourmet flair.

Does anyone like Macaroni and Cheese??

I love mac and cheese especially the kind with the powder cheese, like Kraft :)  In fact DH went to the commissary yesterday and I asked him to get me some because I was craving it the other day.  I had it for lunch today!!  So good  ;D

I liked the mac and cheese with the powdered cheese just fine but the thing that always got my tastes buds going was Velveeta shells and cheese. I always loved squishy cheese in the packages!

Kraft mac and cheese is the only mac and cheese I like. It's so tasty. I have a few boxes that my mom and aunt sent. :)

haha I commented. Not surprised, I love M&C.

Mine is pretty basic, but I use extra mature cheddar, red leicester, and then throw in some sliced "American" cheese too because it somehow helps with the creaminess factor.  It's not called American cheese here but it's the same slices of plastic wrapped orange cheese product.   ;D
