Plane reservation questions for settlement visa
« on: April 30, 2005, 12:44:58 AM »
Should i book a one way or a round trip  when reserving a seat on a plane? I am going for the Spousal visa, but should i just do a round trip for them? and when i am done  with my visa process should I make a one way ticket am I allowed to have just a one way ticket to go to London on a Spousal visa? Will i be refused with just a one way ticket?
 Opinoins please :)
 happy weekend

Eeeek!

The consulate does NOT need to see a plane ticket for a spousal, or any other kind of visa.   It's none of their business.

For visitors, an IO at an entry port may ask to see an onward ticket as evidence of intent to leave.  But you are on a settlement track - you are coming here to join your husband and live here - you are one of us!  So that rule doesn't apply.  You can book your ONE-WAY ticket after they have issued your 2 year probationary visa.

If you have doubts, you can print this thread out and take it with you to show to them...

WOOHOO thanks
the reason I ask is because everything is so darn confusing you know.
I am sure they have to see that we reserved some type of ticket  you know when i go for my visa. right?  NOt that i have bought it.
  ah i hate being confused.
But once i get  my passport stamped i can buy a one way ticket? OH that would be great and less expensive!

From a financial standpoint, a round trip ticket is usually much cheaper than a one-way. I would just purchase a round trip and not use the return ticket.
