Campbell's Cream of Tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, just like my mom used to make on rainy days when I was little.  *sigh*

Anything warm, savory and high in fat ;)   .....mac and cheese, pizza, chicken paprikash/dumplings, grilled cheese/tomato soup, cheese enchiladas, soup (almost any kind!), pot pie, pierogies, cabbage rolls........

I think I am hungry now. ;D

homemade potato or clam chowder (new england), quesadillas, grilled cheese, I used to LOVE those tamales in a can you could get back home, sounds gross, but I loved them, any kind of pasta, egg salad or chicken salad, either in a sandwich or spread on crackers, saltines and sliced cheese....potato salad....macaroni salad....cheeseburgers...tuna melts.....

Usually something savoury and warm and pastry encased from the bakery - like cheese straws, or a sausage roll and a meringue with fresh cream :)

The good thing about being a Brit in America - I won't be able to find such things! But then you guys have Ruffles potato chips instead :(

It's six of one, and half a dozen of another!

I crave any kind of carbohydrate dish with melted cheese in it.

Oooh, then I shouldn't tell you about a place in Los Angeles (well, technically, Santa Monica) that makes fabulous sausage rolls, and some of the best meat pies I've ever had...   ;)

I dont really have a comfort food but if I did I guess Ben and Jerry's choc. fudge brownie would be an it.

When nobody is home (and im not dieting) Sometimes I make really rich, buttery mashed potatoes, dump in a can of salted sweet corn and add a half jar of Dutch applesauce..I mix it all together in a huge bowl and put on a good DVD. YUMMY! I discovered this recipe by accident while I was pregnant. I ate it my entire pregnancy and I still enjoy it now.

What's Dutch applesauce?  Or rather, how is it different from normal applesauce... and where do you buy it?

Speaking of Dutch stuff, has anyone tried Dutch salted licorice?

I got some Dutch applesauce from a deli in our city centre. Also bought some German applesauce online. Its the same as our American Mott's.
