Well I went for it and it only took about 45 minutes. I haven't had any education in this country and my husband and I have never been on benefits so those were 2 things that the man didn't need to bother filling out. Now I can't remember him saying how long it would take until I got a N.I.N.

Maybe Mindy and I look suspicious, and that is why our interviews were so long?  ???

Stu said his interview was long as well and they photocopied his whole passport and mine!

Oh they photo copied EVERYthing of mine.  And made me list everytime for the previous 15 years I'd left and entered the country(including visits before we moved here) and they made a big hoo-haa about all my different aliases.   ;)

When I went the lady told me only visits over 30 days interested them. None of my visits over the last 4 yrs had been that long so we didn't have to write anything down except when I came in on my visa. This was in Feb 2005 I had my interview.

Does anyone know if I need to provide them with any information about my husband being on benefits? I have my interview on Monday morning. My husband has been on carer's allowance (up until a couple weeks ago) for taking care of his younger brother.
