« on: May 13, 2005, 07:54:51 PM »
Is it okay if my hubby took his paperwork to the UK Embassy? or  i definetly have to have HIM send me his stuff so that i can get my visa?
Jsut asking we want to see what options we have.
I think he just hast to send my stuff. he is afraid of it getting lost in the mail.

I've never heard of sending paperwork to the Home Office for spousal visa application in the US.  I think you best bet is to have him send it via a courier like FedEx.  I've heard horror stories about Royal Mail International Signed-for.

Definitely use FEDEX or UPS -- DH sent his info to me via some Royal Mail service and it didn't arrive when it was suposed to.  There was MUCH freaking out in those few days right before our wedding!

Just as a note, Cait,  :-* .  If you needed to "pouch" something directly to a consulate from within the UK, it would go to the Foreign Office rather than the Home Office.  The Foreign Office is in charge of entry clearances and everything else in terms of what happens abroad...

And yes, if you take something to the Foreign Office for transfer via diplomatic pouch, unless you are on the ministerial level, they will laugh in your face  :(  I have tried.   :(
