UK Student-US

Hi I know this is Americans in the UK forum, but I am a British citizen who wants to move to America; currently I am a student at college (18 yrs old). in the future I would love to live in the US, my friends sister is currently living in the US , I am wondering what procedures I would have to take in the future to live in the US, your help would be great..
