self storage units
« on: May 16, 2005, 08:02:19 PM »
I am in need of some storage for a few months after I move in June. My stuff should be there by the middle of august.
My question is this, where can I get storage at reasonable rates? All the places I have found so far charge on average L25.00 A WEEK! That's a week folks.  Here in Oregon the rate for the same space is 30 a MONTH! I'm a leeetle concerned...

Anybody have a solution, or even, and I'm serious, a garage?
Does your brother have a garage? Your father in law?
HELP!!!

Where are you going to be, abercroft? I just did a quick Google search for "self storage units" and one of the first few was offering rates of £9 per week. That's not as cheap as $30 a month, but it's not too bad. I think it was in Bournemouth, but perhaps you can find comparable rates wherever you're headed.

I looked again, and that fantastic price is for the very smallest storage unit. I don't know what size you'll be needing.

The place I found was in Bournemouth, so not sure how helpful it'll be to you, but here it is, anyway:

There's also Big Yellow, which has branches all over the UK and claims to offer rates as low as £5 per week:

Seriously -- just do a Google search for "self storage units." My search came up with nearly 1500 results!

Best of luck to you!

I'm not sure if there is one near you, but we used Big Yellow Box a while back and really liked them.
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!
