Would it be a bad idea to bring this with a converter?

We brought ours but we had a small American TV to hook it up to as well as a power transformer.
It has been a long time but I believe the US playstations only play American games and can only be played on American TV's.  We ended up buying a new UK playstation 2 and the kids still use the old playstation 2 for playing their old American games on the old American TV.

This is true.  You can't play UK games on an American PS2 and vice versa.  Plus I believe the PS3 is coming soon!!!!

Well, I have a lot of games and dvds that I dont really want to part with but I was just worried that using a converter would be too much and it would end up frying.

But thank you anyway! :)

They have multi-region dvd players here, so you can bring those over for sure.

You can bring the PS2, but you will need a proper adapter, not just a regular one.

If you bring a US Playstation here you will need a US television and power converter to play US games only! You will not be able to watch telivision with it.

Oh I see, so the cords wont properly hook up to the tv?

The plugs are all detachable, could I possibly buy the UK PS2 plugs?
