There were some from 2002, but they were a bit boring.

A good, homemade sherry trifle.  Custard, lashings of whipped cream, sprinkles and booze, how can you go wrong?

Summer pudding is lovely, as are crumbles and fools and such.

When I was married here back in 1978, I had a sponge wedding cake that was layered and that was made in Luton of all places, so it can be done.

Have you had sticky toffee pudding?  It is heaven reincarnated into food form.

I think maybe you just need to expand your dessert horizons.

This is from 2002!  And since then, I've had the fruit cake with marzipan "frosting" as one of my wedding cakes, still love spotted dick when I can get it, and ADORE stollen from Lidl each Christmas.

Oh, I meant to say earlier in my kransekake post, if it looks yummy but too much effort, you can make them into mini cake/cookies.  I haven't done it in a few yrs, but they turned out well.  Here's a recipe I found today, http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~soakbear/cake.htm.  It was just a quick google search, so there may be better ones out there.  I know I have one somewhere...
