Okay, so I'm rubbish at the whole "keeping a secret" thing.  I haven't managed it yet.  I need to make some kind of announcement, so my more anonymous online friends will fit the bill nicely--thanks UKY!  We found out this weekend that we are expecting number three!  Our family knows, and one friend knows, but other than that we haven't been saying much yet.

The thing that makes it all feel, well, I don't know how it feels, but my 94 year-old grandfather passed away a few hours after I found out about the pregnancy.  It is also our anniversary today.  I'm feeling all tied to the past and future in so many ways.  Sad to hear the last of my grandparents is gone, joyful about a baby we've been trying to have for a while, and nostalgic thinking of the beginning of our marriage.  It all feels tied in together somehow.  What a weekend!

Little one no. 3 due 23 June 2013 if all goes well.

Congrats on the pregnancy. I can't imagine all the extra hormones are helping with the emotional roller coaster. Good luck.

Congrats, Cadenza!!  ;D My grandfather passed away toward the end of my pregnancy. I was so sad and heartbroken that I couldn't be there to attend the service or be with my family.  :\\\'( But I know that he would just love my little one and would be so happy for me. I hope you feel better soon and get a chance to celebrate your special news with more gusto!  :)

Thank you all!  I've actually not been too sad this time.  It's hard to explain, but I made a point of going to say goodbye to my grandparents before I left, and I wasn't quite as close with them as my other grandparents.  I still love them and am sad to see them go, but somehow this weekend has been more nostalgic for me.  It didn't really interfere with finding out I was pregnant as much as it kind of tied everything into one long chain of generations.  I'm not sure that makes sense, but I've just been very grateful for my family that has gone on before me and thinking about my own family growing now.  It all feels tied together in a very nice way.

Ahem, I am pregnant. I am enjoying the thought of a child immensely, but the reality of pregnancy is vaguely annoying. DH is SUPER excited though. I believe it is easier when you're not the one constantly feeling nauseated. ;)

Thank you! We found out about the pregnancy and my cool new job at roughly the same time.  EVERYONE who has ever come into contact with my husband at work (we both work at the same uni) has come up to me and said "Congrats!"--when I ask if it's for the baby or the job, nobody has heard a peep about any new job. ;) It's cute.  Which is lucky, as I am pretty ill and uncomfortable, so cute is a good idea for DH right now, otherwise I might be tempted to blame him for everything!

Congrats Jennie. Have to agree, pregnancy can be the pits sometimes. I know women who love being pregnant, but I am most certainly not one of them! With nausea, pelvic/back pain making it hard to walk, aching joints, heartburn and sleepless nights, it's not a picnic (although feeling the little movements can be amazing). With DD2 I actually looked forward to the baby's birth so I could have a better night's rest!

I guess it must be worth it since I'm doing it a third time now. :-) It really changes everything, and makes life much richer. Hope the nausea lightens up for you soon.

Congratulations, Jennie! I have to admit, I was one that loved being pregnant. But, I didn't have a lick of morning sickness. Yes, I realized I was lucky! I have friends who had/have it horribly, so you have my sympathies. I hope it passes soon so you can enjoy it!  :D

Thanks everyone! The nausea is manageable (I think it's connected to blood sugar levels more than anything else; I am currently living on citrus fruit.); it's the odd stabbing pain I have between my ribs on one side that is most annoying. The midwife poked around a bit, said there probably wasn't anything wrong, and then announced that sometimes pregnant bodies are weird. Not what I wanted to hear! ;)
